About HCA Healthcare Mission Fund

The HCA Healthcare Mission Fund was created in connection with HCA Healthcare’s acquisition of Mission Health in February 2019. The Fund invests in companies and economic development activities that innovate in the delivery of healthcare throughout Western North Carolina. As a strategic investor, we will collaborate with innovative companies, individuals and other organizations to leverage the expertise and other resources of HCA Healthcare to stimulate healthcare related economic activity, create healthcare jobs or otherwise improve the efficiency, quality and/or cost of healthcare in Western North Carolina.

Investment

We aim to maintain a broad scope for investment activity, providing access to funding opportunities for entrepreneurs, companies and not-for-profit economic development activities in the region. When evaluating each investment, our focus will be on the scale of impact, traction in the market, and potential for growth rather than a company’s size or stage of fundraising. Initial investments will range from $500k to $5 million with up to $3 million available for follow on investments.

Geography

Our investment resources will be deployed in companies and development activities that are located or operate in Western North Carolina, specifically within the following counties: Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, Transylvania and Yancey.
